Growing up on the north side of Memphis, KR8TS began his journey at the age of 14, swiftly rising through the engineering department at New Jack Records. His exposure to legendary soul artists while working "Behind the Boards" set him apart in the industry, equipping him with unparalleled experience. The challenges he faced as a young professional, combined with his early success, uniquely prepared him to play a pivotal role in the Southern hip hop revolution.
Over the years, KR8TS has solidified his reputation locally and beyond. His big break came when he played his beat CD on the tour bus of Dem Franchise Boyz, catching the attention of Jermaine Dupri. Impressed by his work, Dupri invited KR8TS to collaborate in his Atlanta studio, where he has since become renowned for his clarity in mixing and recording. Artists from all over seek have sought KR8TS for his distinct sound.
KR8TS recent credits include two feature films:
Equalizer 2, starring Denzel Washington, where he produced the track "More Than Rap" and mixed the signature track "In the Name of Love."
Once Upon a Time in Venice, starring Bruce Willis, where he produced the track "With You."
